An Arlington man convicted of raping a 6-year-old boy was sentenced to life in prison Thursday, the Bristol district attorney said. Palermo Alicea, 72, was convicted Wednesday in Fall River Superior Court of raping a child in the boy’s Fall River apartment in February 2011, according to a statement from District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter. Alicea met the victim while staying in a homeless shelter. Alicea was previously convicted in Massachusetts of child rape and incest in 1986 and indecent assault and battery of a person over 14 and assault with intent to rape in 1995, the statement said.
