The Boston Globe’s Brian McGrory has won a top journalism honor for his columns in the Metro section, claiming the Sigma Delta Chi Award for general column writing in a daily newspaper with a circulation of 100,000 or more. The recognition, announced Tuesday by the Society of Professional Journalists, comes a month after McGrory won a Scripps Howard Award for outstanding commentary for a similar sample of his 2011 columns.
