Whitey Bulger lawyers waiting for documents

Lawyers for James “Whitey’’ Bulger are still seeking items from federal prosecutors to prepare for the reputed gangster’s November trial on charges of racketeering and 19 murders. A hearing to discuss the status of the case is scheduled for Wednesday. In a filing Friday, Bulger’s lawyers said they have not yet received all trial and plea transcripts from related cases and a preliminary list of evidence that prosecutors plan to use as exhibits, among other items. His lawyers have repeatedly complained that prosecutors turned over mountains of evidence in a disorganized fashion, making it difficult for defense counsel to prepare.
