9-year-old boy dies from gunshot wound in Hollis, N.H.

A 9-year-old Hollis, N.H. boy died Saturday from a gunshot wound to the head, according to the Hollis Police Department.

When police arrived at a home on Runnells Ridge Road on Friday, they found Maximos Herbert in a bedroom, unconscious from his wounds, which were caused by a “smaller caliber shotgun,” according to a statement from the Hollis Police Department. The 9-year-old lived in the home with his father, police said.


He was taken to St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua then air lifted to Massachusetts General Hospital, where he died on Saturday, according to the statement.

The incident remains under investigation.
