Interesting, could be useful if it works.

It is interesting that the doctors want to be shielded from liability if the mistake is due to hospital policy. In such a case, the patient would be out of luck. Most hospitals in Massachusetts are protected from paying more than $20,000 in damages as a matter of law because they are "charities." It doesn't matter if they have insurance--so if the hospital policy causes bad medical care, patients would be unable to obtain compensation.
