Newton Mayor Setti Warren has proposed raising his own salary by $27,125 in the budget plan he presented to aldermen this week. Warren, a former candidate for US Senate, is recommending that his salary climb next fiscal year to $125,001, a 28 percent increase from his current annual pay of $97,876. “It’s not about me, it’s about the office of mayor,’’ said Warren, who is halfway through his first four-year term.

It's not about me, really, 28% increase in YOUR salary, you obviously think people in your city are stupid.
The mayor can always resign if he feels underpaid. no one is forcing him to stay on - try finding another job with the same extravagant fringe benefits.

Those Newtonians can't continue to be so cheap with such a self-worthed poobah leading their community. Settu us undervaluing himself by at least 71%. He needs a 96% raise, not a lousy 25%. AFter all he tried for a state job and was bounced back to the minors to pick up more experience. And he shares the same surname as the superior Hahvud woman professor that Globist Propaganda Chief Glen Johnnson is demanding be put in a U.S. Senate seat. So with that guidance, all my good Newtonian buds now know how to petition their city government in the matter of Setti Warren's pay check. And if a Proposition 2 1/2 override is needed to raise the cash for Setti, so be it.
I agree that Setti should be paid more. But other public sector employees in Newton, espcially fire and police, should be paid less.
