If the nation’s most competitive US Senate election comes down to who likes dogs the most, Scott Brown is staking a claim to frontrunner status. He likes them. A lot. He owns two. And lest there be any confusion, one of them, Snuggles the Shih Tzu, got his name “because he’s very snuggly,’’ Brown attests. The Republican senator, who sits on the Armed Services Committee and has been under fire for opposing a millionaires tax, is wrapping his political fortunes this week around man’s best friend.
