Defendant may plead guilty in stabbing

A second defendant in the fatal stabbing of a former high school basketball star from the Berkshires appears to be ready to plead guilty, while a third suspect seems likely to go to trial. Attorneys representing Allan McGraw of Kingston, N.Y., and John Spratling of Pittsfield were in Berkshire Superior Court Wednesday. They have pleaded not guilty to being involved in the March 2010 slaying of Jahda Martin, a former star at Lee High School, who was stabbed in a parking lot after leaving a nearby club. The Berkshire Eagle reported that Spratling’s lawyer told a judge his client will probably plead guilty to assault and battery. (AP)
