It was a day for anthems and icons, for Pedro, Pudge, and Pesky, and a Hall of Fame reunion in left field. A day to remember, in other words, followed by a game to forget.

It was all great . . . until the game started.

Brilliantly written . This article is why people still read newspapers. The Red Sox are pathetic and look uninspired , I hope the management is happy that they fired the GM and Manager that gave us two series tittles and kept 3 players who still must be giggling for getting away with their inexcusable behavior. The Red Sox haven't had a really good drooler since Don Zimmer. They've got some decent spitters and some so-so droolers, but nobody is Zim's league.
