Firefighters battle major fire in Marlborough

Firefighters today battled a six-alarm blaze in an apartment building in the city of Marlborough. The fire was on Route 20 at 273 West Main St., a dispatcher said. The department released no further information, saying all personnel were at the scene. Craig Hunt, owner of the Hunt’s Mobil gas station across the street from the three-story brick apartment building, said, “The roof was up in flames. ... We’re right across the street and when they punched a hole in the roof, you could feel the heat.”
