In November 1972, a student in MIT’s Baker House decided it would be hugely entertaining to drop an unplayable old upright from the residence hall’s sixth floor roof onto the pavement below. Although no one could have known at the time, the Baker House Piano Drop has since become an annual event, more or less. It was recently chosen by alumni as their favorite entry in a poll of MIT-related stories and artifacts.

I wish they would have a "Mumbles" drop instead, he is useless, heavy and dumb as an old piano. Some one should hire a couple of illegals to try to catch it when it falls.
