Trial begins for mother, teenager in parking dispute stabbing

A Roxbury woman and her teenage daughter went on trial Wednesday for allegedly stabbing a neighbor during an argument in 2010 over a parking spot that had been cleared of snow and saved with furniture. The case represents an extreme example of how parking-space savers, a longtime tradition in city neighborhoods that is respected by some but rejected by others, can sometimes boil over and lead to violence on the wintry streets.
