Antiracism rally cites hockey tweets

Demonstration points out lack of awareness

Two days after an outpouring of racist tweets followed a Bruins game, an annual rally against racism in downtown Boston took on stronger purpose. Stand Against Racism, coordinated by the YWCA Boston is held on the last Friday in April. This year, many of the estimated 400 participants lined up on the side of the Summer Street Bridge and pointed to the tweeting incident to explain the importance of their event, which aims to raise “awareness that racism still exists.’’
