Peter Berlandi, the political and business consultant who famously helped Republican William F. Weld win the governor’s office in 1990, is being honored Monday at a fund-raiser to benefit UMass Boston. The event is expected to raise over $500,000 for scholarships. Meanwhile, Mitt Romney is building out his campaign staff with some former aides now that he is the presumptive Republican presidential nominee.
