Burlington woman found slain in home

Authorities are investigating the killing of a Burlington woman who was found stabbed in her home on Thursday night.

Burlington police found Kristen Pulisciano, 38, with multiple stab wounds at a house on Forbes Avenue around 6:45 p.m., said Middlesex District Attorney Gerard T. Leone Jr.

A spokeswoman said no one was in custody late Thursday night, and she did not release a description of a suspect.

“While the stabbing is not believed to have been at random, the investigation remains active and ongoing,’’ Leone’s office said.

Police issued an alert for a 2010 brown Honda Civic in connection with the homicide.

Several neighbors said they had little contact with the residents of the house, whom they described as a couple with two older children.

“They’re very quiet actually. Nothing really ever went on there,’’ said Susan Franson, who lives across the street. “The cops were never up there, you never heard them yelling or screaming. They were just very quiet, so this is just very bizarre.’’

Franson said the neighborhood is quiet and located near police and fire stations, so she was surprised to see an active crime scene near her home. At 10 p.m. Thursday, she said police vehicles were parked on the street, with officers walking around the home.

“I think it’s just shock that this could actually happen across the street from my house,’’ she said.
