Longtime Boston Globe reporter Gloria Negri received the Master Reporter Award from the New England Society of Newspaper Editors on Thursday night, in honor of her career that has included stints as a columnist and a foreign correspondent for several media outlets. “It was a great honor to be recognized by such a prestigious group,’’ Negri said in a phone interview after the ceremony, which was held at the offices of the New England Newspaper and Press Association in Dedham.
