Boston police locate missing drug evidence

Probe finds error in package storage

Boston police said Monday that missing bulk drug evidence that was highlighted by a recent audit was improperly shelved due to an administrative mistake. The Globe reported April 24 that the department was investigating internally after an audit showed that drugs seized by police as evidence in one pending case could not be located. Police completed a “thorough search of the immediate area,’’ the department said Monday, and officials found the missing evidence nearby.
