Boston firefighters’ lawyer faces complaint

City officials say union’s attorney was rude, vulgar at bargaining table

The City of Boston filed a formal complaint against a prominent labor lawyer Thursday, saying that his vulgar and vitriolic behavior at the negotiating table on behalf of the firefighters’ union has gone too far. At a meeting Tuesday, attorney E. David Wanger allegedly berated city officials with obscenities and repeatedly interrupted by saying “Blah! Blah! Blah!’’ according to a letter addressed to the state Division of Labor Relations. The union vigorously defended Wanger. The lawyer did not return calls seeking comment.
