The remnants of the first tropical storm of the season, Alberto, will be rolling through New England today and Tuesday, and rain and clouds will be a common theme early this week, according to the National Weather Service.
Scattered showers are expected today, with an increasing chance of heavier showers over Connecticut and Southeastern New England, the service said. Highs will be in the upper 60s.
The showers are expected to continue to pop up into the Tuesday morning commute, said meteorologist Bill Simpson. On Tuesday, temperatures will rise to the low 70s in Eastern Massachusetts and reach highs in the upper 70s in Western Massachusetts.
There is a slight chance of rain continuing off and on through the rest of the week. Skies are expected to be partly cloudy.
On Wednesday, highs will be in the mid- to upper 70s.
On Thursday and Friday, Western Massachusetts temperatures are expected to hit the mid-80s. The rest of the state will be in the upper 70s.
On Saturday, highs will linger around 80 degrees and Sunday will be milder, with highs in the mid-70s, forecasters said.
