A rooster leaves his flock

None of this was supposed to happen.

I wasn’t supposed to end up with a chicken in my life. I mean, who has chickens? People in overalls or Birkenstocks, and I own neither.

Thanks. Good story.

Nicely done.

Now I like that...great story

Brian - My condolences to you and yours on Buddy's passing. I never thought of a rooster as a pet but apparently he was pretty happy riding in the car and hanging with the girls. You may want to have an autopsy done as most roosters live 5+ years.

I've always liked the way Brian "pecks" away at a storyline. Now I know where he often found his muse. Being an exotic pet owner myself, I understand his sadness today.

Nice story. My condolences. No matter how unusual or exotic, our pets fulfill our lives.

Take care my friend!

Sad, funny, beautiful.

Rooster royalty. Buddy and your family were lucky to have created a life together. Inspiring. Peace to Buddy -- and judging from his love-filled life, he will certainly rest in peace.

Mawkish, redundant, tiresome: move on, Brian, and write about OTHER people (or even critters) outside your domicile.

What a complete tool you must be. Let the guy write about what he wants to write about and you go back and read whatever comic book you were reading. Your post is indicative of you being as shallow as a mud puddle in the sun.

He could always write about a moron like you. But no one would care.

Darn! I wish I had come up with that one. If you are bored to the point of tears, look at Skeezik's profile/past posts. Nearly all hyper-critical of writers, etc. Skeekiz, who hurt you when you were little? It's ok, just let it out.
