Human trafficking operation alleged in Boston area

Four people, including a husband and wife, are facing charges that they ran a “sophisticated human trafficking operation” in the Boston area, the attorney general’s office said Friday. Rafael Henriquez, 39, and his wife, Ramona Carpio Hernandez, 50, both of East Boston, were indicted by a special statewide grand jury Thursday on charges that included trafficking in persons for sexual servitude, conspiracy to traffic persons for sexual servitude, deriving support from prostitution, and keeping a house of ill fame, prosecutors said. Milton Lopez-Martinez, 27, and Diego Suarez, 35, were indicted on the same charges, according to Attorney General Martha Coakley’s office. All four are accused of running a business that brought women to locations in East Boston and Chelsea, where they were sold for sexual services.
