Brookline votes yes to leave Norfolk County

Secession backers point to high taxes

About two hundred years after Dorchester, Hyde Park, Roxbury, and West Roxbury pulled out of Norfolk County, Brookline is also rallying for secession. The time has come to abolish Norfolk County, Plymouth County & Bristol County government without any loss of services such as what happened with the other 10 counties in 1998. County government serves no useful purpose & is a drain of town resources with nothing in return. A very simple transfer plan should accomplish this & the county commissioners can finally retire, since they only meet one hour per week anyway & earn $33K a year!
