A police officer was taken to an area hospital this morning after being struck by a construction vehicle while working a detail in Danvers, police said.
The officer, who works for a different town, was working a detail on a closed ramp on Route 128 in the area of High Street when he was struck by a construction vehicle around 10:25 a.m., according to Danvers Police Sergeant Robert Bettencourt.
The officer was transported to a local hospital with a non-life-threatening leg injury, Bettencourt said.
No further information was immediately available.
