A barn dating back to the 1800s was damaged by fire this week after being struck by lightning. Firefighters put out a blaze Tuesday at a barn on Route 132, just a few feet from the home of Anne Crewe. The fire did not spread. Part of the barn’s first floor was destroyed, and the second floor had limited damage. The Valley News reported the property has been on the Register of Historic Places since 1977. Crewe said she was unsure what she will do with the barn.
