A day after Elizabeth Warren acknowledged that she told two Ivy League schools she was Native American, her campaign began scrambling to allay the concerns of supporters about her handling of the issue, while political observers questioned why she’d let the incendiary issue smolder for so long. A senior staffer on the campaign, meanwhile, said the Warren team was not even aware that she’d been listed as Native American in any official capacity before the news broke last month, because researchers hired to scrub their own candidate’s background for biographical details that might erupt had failed to unearth that the law professor began identifying herself as a Native American about 25 years ago.

Deceit ain't a chair at Yankee Stadium. She is the textbook example.
Elizabeth Warren indeed has backbone. She has turned this hic cup into a picture of her opposition's view of what they think is important. They will go to every extreme to interject false negative motives. Here is the complete email: "When I was a little girl, I learned about my family's heritage the same way everyone else does -- from my parents and grandparents. My mother, grandmother, and aunts were open about my family's Native American heritage, and I never had any reason to doubt them. What kid asks their grandparents for legal documentation to go along with their family stories? What kid asks their mother for proof in how she describes herself? My heritage is a part of who I am -- and I am proud of it. But that's not good enough for Scott Brown and the Republican Party. For several weeks now, they have orchestrated an attack against my family, my job qualifications, and my character. Earlier today, Scott Brown even questioned the honesty of my parents -- even though they are not fair game and are not here to defend themselves. Scott Brown wants me to give up my family and forget where I came from. I'm not doing that -- not for politics and not for anything else. I'll hold on to every memory I can. My family is part of who I am, and they will be part of who I am until I die. Despite evidence to the contrary, Scott Brown also claims I got special breaks because of my background. That's not true, and I need your help to fight back: The people involved in recruiting and hiring me for my teaching jobs, including Harvard professor Charles Fried -- the solicitor-general under Ronald Reagan and a Scott Brown voter in 2010 -- have said unequivocally they were not aware of my heritage and that it played no role in my hiring. I did not benefit from my heritage when applying to college or law school, and documents reporters have examined prove it. I let people know about my Native American heritage in a national directory of law school personnel. At some point after they hired me, I also provided that information to the University of Pennsylvania and Harvard. I decided to run for the U.S. Senate because the middle class in this country has been hacked at and hammered at and because Washington doesn't get it. Scott Brown has a very different vision about who we are as a people, and he votes to make sure the levers of power in Washington continue to work for the big, the powerful and the wealthy. If everyone in Massachusetts knew where Scott Brown stands on the important issues, voters wouldn't give him a second term in the U.S. Senate. You know that, I know that, and he knows that, too. That's why he has worked so hard to make this campaign about anything else -- even my heritage. It's why his campaign spends so little time on what Massachusetts voters are really concerned about. On Election Day, we will prevail because our vision is clearer and our ideas are stronger. We are focused on the issues important to middle class families, and our grassroots team w
What a PATHETIC candidate! Lizzie "Little Feather" aka fake Indian, needs Deval and the rest of the moonbat hierachy to prop her up and answer questions for her. She has proven to be a liar, a cheat; a person with questionable character. Now she and her comrades are going to do everything they can tomorrow to make sure that Marissa Defranco doesn't get the 15% to get on the ballot in September. Lizzie 'Little Feather' is just what we need in Washington; another liberal being lead along on a leash by the power brokers.
Now "Ms.99 percenter" turns out to be a 1 percenter! Turns out she flipped foreclosed houses, and the hypocrite feeds off those poor people who lost their homes to foreclosure. Shame on you, Lizzie! http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view.bg?articleid=1061135738
Try to rationalize this if you like, but neither she, nor Harvard, nor Penn attempted to find, request or provide any documentation for her claims. Anyone can claim anything they like to get a leg up on other people in line for the same opportunity. She claims "victimhood" with nothing but "family lore". Actually, if she came out in the beginning and just said she had made an honest mistake by simply believing what she had been told as a child, anyone could understand that. However, 1/32 still does not make her a Cherokee deserving of special treatment. And now, it's been learned that she's a hypocrite by presenting herself as a "One percenter" to the OWSers, yet it's now found that she bought and flipped foreclosed homes, for goodness sake! She's as bad as anyone she's railing against. http://www.bostonherald.com/news/columnists/view.bg?articleid=1061135738
"What kid asks their grandparents for legal documentation?" What kind of adult lawyer uses this as an excuse for working with Harvard to file false federal diversity reports?
She is a liar! Last week it was confirmed year after year she reported that she was Native American. Remember her stating she wanted to meet others like her? Well it turns out she never went to one Native American event or even contact any Native Americans! The irony is that the person who took her data and reported it to Harvard and the Federal Government was Native American and she never contacted him on anything about her fake heritage. I wonder why?
I'm still waiting for her to talk about her plagiarism?
If nothing else, this hiccup in the campaign points out the absurdity of the whole load of bs that is the diversity issue.
Ms. Warren has serious mental issues. The rest of the country consider the NE as left-wing loonies now - but - neither them or us have any idea what makes Ms.Warren behave in the manner that she does. This is not the kind of person the Massachusetts voters should send to Washington to represent them.
Because she believed she qualified for minority status, for all intents and purposes she did qualify. For that matter she still does-and always will. Hence, she was required to file the reports exactly as she did. See how that works? Doesn't sound like you approve. Oh well, like so many others so inclined, you weren't going to vote for her anyway. Now you've swallowed this false narrative completely. Gives you a better excuse to vote for the handsome guy I guess. Very shallow and superficial.
Elizabeth Warren did this country a great service by working to establish the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Unfortunately, the President failed to appoint her take charge of this bureau, a role she had earned. But Obama knuckled under to the Republican obstructionists in Congress, and failed to reward her efforts. If he had the political savvy to just use the recess appointment and give her the job, then she wouldn't have to go through the humiliating ordeal of running for the Senate. The mudslinging misogynistic personal attacks are, pardon the pun, un-Warrented. We would have all been better of if she had been able to head up the bureau she created. Perhaps she might have been able to properly apply Dodd-Frank and prevent J P Morgan from committing 2 billion dollars worth of wholesale highway robbery. Just move on past this ridiculous Native American brouhaha and give her your vote. She's still more likely to protect your interests than meat-puppet Brown. Middle-of-the-road? That's where we find road kill, flip-flopping away.
I wish they had handled this right away as soon as the Herald published it. But as she is right on the issues & I don't think she tried to use her Native American Heritage to further her career I still intend to vote for her. I think the Republican agenda is just to Far Right for people in Mass to allow Scott Brown to vote with them 70% of the time. I think Scott Brown should get back to campaigning on the isssues & not get into things like this. It is like Obama the birth certificate issue & his religion. These things do not help the country move forward & solve the very real problems we should be dealing with at this time.
