Dennis man admits to killing puppy

ORLEANS, Mass. — A Dennis man has pleaded guilty to kicking a 4-month-old puppy to death because he was angry that it defecated on the floor. William Torres pleaded guilty Wednesday in Orleans District Court. He faces up to five years in prison at sentencing scheduled for Aug. 8. Police say they responded to an Eastham home in November 2010 for a report of a dog hit by a car. Torres, who said he had found the dog dead in the road, told police he had not seen the car. The Cape Cod Times reported that the dog belonged to his girlfriend’s sister. The women became suspicious months later. Torres told police he repeatedly kicked the miniature pinscher-toy fox terrier mix several times after it defecated on the floor.
