Springfield neighborhood still reels a year after deadly tornado

Significant parts of Massachusetts’ third largest city are still reeling a full year after the most destructive tornado to hit New England in 60 years. While suburban communities have gradually recovered since the June 1, 2011, disaster, low income neighborhoods lack the resources to rebuild. Government aid has been both limited and slow in coming, leaving ruined buildings to attract partying teenagers, drug dealers and vandals while agencies haggle over who should pay the bill to tear them down.
