SPRINGFIELD — A veteran officer of the Springfield Police Department was shot to death Monday afternoon while responding to a call about a domestic dispute between a woman and her former boyfriend, police said.
The man, a correctional officer from New York, then shot his former girlfriend and took his own life, police said. The woman remained in critical condition Monday night.

Let's keep everyone involved in prayer. The poor 1 year old...having to witness such violence. We have no respect for authority any more. It is truly frightening. My heart and prayers go out the victims families, to the woman in critical condition, and to the Police Department.
