NBA Finals dream ends, along with an era

Goodbye to a season, and to the (new) Big Three

MIAMI - No more loud nights at the Garden. No ride down Thunder Road to play Oklahoma City in the NBA Finals.

The Last Roundup for Boston’s fabled (new) Big Three was Saturday night at AmericanAirlines Arena near South Beach. The much-maligned Miami Heat came up big in crunch time and defeated the Celtics, 101-88, in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals.

Nice tip of the cap to De Facto Commissioner Ryan at the end of this sad tale. Wish I'd heard him say that about the last 83 seconds. I was still pulling for a miracle then. Indeed, could almost smell the cigar smoke.

fixed

dan, unless this 7 game series was either fixed or you wrote that column saying the shamrocks were gonna be blown out right before the series started with some helpful words from your white haired buddy as a total ploy to energize the local 5, than you owe this team a big apology and failure to do that would be way beneath both yourself and ryan. i's say going right to the half of game 7 was not being blown out.kinda sorta far from it. mike arnold

Heck with you, Shaughnessy. You wrote that the Celtics had no chance, and were wrong. Anyone could see the way they were playing they had better than a chance. Your credibility is shot.
