A man was taken to a Brockton hospital Monday for an evaluation after State Police divers recovered two bags containing clothes and toys from a pond in Rockland, State Police said. The unidentified man was seen placing two military-style bags into Reed’s Pond on Market Street and saying, “I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” according to a statement from the State Police, who were called to assist around 8 p.m. The man then swam to the opposite side of the pond, where he was detained by local police, the statement said. The incident is under investigation by Rockland police.
