Happy resolution to search for missing teenager in Dedham

A 15-year-old boy who went missing in Dedham late Wednesday night has been found, the boy’s father said today.

William Doucette, said his son, Ian, went missing in the middle of the night. He said he and his wife searched until about 5:30 a.m. before reporting his disappearance to police.

Doucette said that at about 2 p.m. today, his son contacted his girlfriend to let her know he was OK, and said he was near her home in Roslindale. At the time, she was being questioned by police at the family’s home.

“It appears that he tried to run away,” Doucette said. “We’re just happy that he’s been found.”

He said police are going to the scene to pick him up, and then he will return to his family’s house.

Dedham Police Lieutenant Keith Boyle said this morning that detectives had assigned to the case.
