Representative arrested during eviction protest

A state representative was arrested Thursday while protesting the eviction of one of her constituents outside a foreclosed home in Jamaica Plain. Elizabeth A. Malia, a Democrat who represents Jamaica Plain, was arrested on a trespassing charge along with five other protesters who refused to obey police orders to leave 3 Mendell Way, said Officer Nicole Grant, a Boston police spokeswoman. The property belonged to Heather Gordon, a 61-year-old woman who Malia said she has known for several years.
