Longer term sought for convicted rapist

Suffolk County prosecutors are seeking a longer prison term for a man convicted in 2010 of sexually assaulting three women in two South End home invasions in 1990, after an appeals court last year threw out his 2003 conviction in another case. District Attorney Daniel F. Conley’s office said Sunday in a statement that the Massachusetts Appeals Court decision reversing the 2003 conviction of Michael Johnson, 43, could free him decades earlier than expected.
