Red Line power shut down due to fire on tracks at Charles/MGH Station

Service has been disrupted on the Red Line this afternoon due to a fire on the tracks at the Charles/MGH Station, the MBTA Transit Police said. The Boston Fire Department has requested power to the trains be shut down so firefighters can better assess the situation, the transit police said in a tweet. The T said in a service alert that both inbound and outbound trains were “experiencing significant delays” due to fire department “activity” at Charles/MGH.
