Scott Brown accepts Boston media consortium debate

Senator Scott Brown’s campaign said Wednesday that he will accept an invitation to a third televised debate, the highest profile face-off yet, sponsored by a consortium of Boston-based news organizations.

The announcement followed Brown’s refusal to debate at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute, because Victoria Reggie Kennedy, widow of the late senator, declined his request that she stay neutral in the Senate contest. Kennedy, an active Democrat who is president of the institute’s board, had issued the debate invitation.

So, does Dan Rea agree to remain neutral and refrain from involvement in the campaign if he hosts the debate? I am sure Scott Brown must agree that this is only fair. Does he really expect voters to believe that Dan Rea is less committed to his beliefs than Victoria Kennedy? Oh, Scott, what a disappointment you have become!

"It's not clear what he's afraid of," Warren campaign manager Mindy Myers said in a statement." This one is going to come back and bite her in her spanky pants. This should be the very first topic they open with at any one of the debates. As long as Prof Warren gets the same treatment it's gonna be a good one.

So should Dan Rea remain neutral if Prof Warren accepts going head to head on his program? Sen Brown enjoys rolling around in the weeds and running from any real discussion of the issues.

The Kennedy Institute aspires to be a non-partisan teaching institute. This is supposedly Senator Kennedy's dream. If this TRULY WAS THE CASE THEN VICKY KENNEDY SHOULD HAVE NO PROBLEM REMAINING NEUTRAL.******** The other sponsors of the debate leave no room for doubt as to where they stand on the issues. Some right, some left.

Compared to Jon Keller, Dan Rea is very mild cheese, indeed. Keller is an out-of-the-closet Republican in a very blue state. Ever pay attention to his "At Large" segments? Even when he tries to be objective, he fails. It's really tough to cover Scott Brown and ignore his votes, his influence peddling, his behind-the-scene effort to weaken even his "bipartisan" vote, but Keller does it. Toss in some of the most egregious votes, against the Jobs bill, parity for women (that means women get paid the same for doing the same job a man does...for all you Republicans out there) and some votes he made as a senator in Massachusetts. Those included votes to stop a school lunch program for inner city school children, a vote to deny a supplemental budget to the blind and the same for disabled people! This is the Jekyll/Hyde we have as our senator! This is Massachusetts, not Mississippi! His reelection would be a stain on the reputation of our state. Meanwhile, the money keeps rolling in!

Honesty, credibilty and integrity count despite what Menino thinks which is ironic since that is the only reason he is still mayor. People believe him to be honest and cridible. Elizabeth Warren is going to find that out. People get fired for fudging their resume for much less than lying about their nationality.

Victoria Kennedy is touting The Kennedy Institute as a NON-PARTISAN institute. THEREFOR- KENNEDY MUST remain neutral to keep her institute's credibility.****** Everyone knows there are partisan reporters on BOTH sides.
