Alligator found roaming neighborhood caught

An alligator that was seen roaming a residential neighborhood in Enfield has been caught near the Connecticut River. Enfield police Sergeant Mark Squires told The Journal Inquirer of Manchester that authorities were called out around 7 a.m. Friday after an alligator that was about 2 or 3 feet long was seen in the Thompsonville section of town. Authorities said it was found wearing a collar and a leash. A representative from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection responded, along with animal control officers and Enfield police.
