Evan Kenney had just turned 18 and registered to vote for the first time when he campaigned to be an alternate delegate to the Republican National Convention. Lauding Ronald Reagan’s principles and blasting Keynesian economics at the Lynnfield caucus in April, the Wakefield High School senior beat out several well-known Massachusetts Republicans, including the party’s most recent nominee for governor, Charles D. Baker Jr.
But earlier this month, Kenney was one of 17 delegates and alternates disqualified by a Republican committee deciding who gets to represent Massachusetts Republicans at the national convention in Tampa. Kenney and others had failed to deliver in time an affidavit swearing, under the penalty of perjury, that they would support Mitt Romney’s nomination for president.

I'm glad to see those liars get discovered and eliminated (people who promised to vote for Mitt Romney in order to become a delegate - but really intended on not voting the first round and then voting for Ron Paul the second round). It was shameful what they were doing. And they have the gumption to think that the process was unfair to them? That's a LOL and 1/2.

Welcome to what happens when bullies get power. And I'm talking about Eric Fehrnstrom, not Mitt. Just another example of the Romney campaign "Etch-A-Sketch." Ron Paul supporters? What Ron Paul supporters?
To Ron Paul Supporters: You have 3 choices. Either put your votes in the Libertarian column or, I guess, holding your nose, vote for the President. You could also stay home. Given your views there is more room for comfort in the Democratic Party than in the Republican Party. On War, although there are some hawks, you will find many who would like to significantly lower the Defense Budget. Also in terms of getting along, like Dr. Paul, many in the Democratic Party want to support proper trade policy. Domestically not only privacy rights, but diluting the power of big corporations with their fingers on legislative levers using boodles of money is a Democratic issue. These are all libertarian causes and if you could only hold the gold standard in abeyance and wait until we're out of this recession caused by ethically challenged financiers and national programs from the past that went unpaid for. This snubbing of your hard work to become delegates should be a wake up call. They do not welcome you in their party even if Mr. Romney was incapable of getting Republican activists in his own state organized to get his own supporters elected.
Just another republican voter supression act. Thats right change the rules and leave the elected delegates out. It just never ends for the party of NO.
Welcome to politics, RP wunderkind! And you thought it was all about getting back to the gold standard and shrinking the size of government? It's really about low-level party functionaries retaining whatever totemic power they've managed to acquire. Both major parties are indistinguishable in this regard.
