NAACP seeks inquiry into police shooting
Questions remain over teen’s death, organization says
The New Bedford branch of the NAACP is requesting an independent investigation into the May 17 police shooting of 15-year-old Malcolm Gracia and asking for all reports to be made public, after conflicting witness statements. “The people of this city and the community need to know the facts and the truth of what happened on the night that Malcolm Gracia was shot and killed,” the organization wrote. Bristol District Attorney C. Samuel Sutter has issued few details but has agreed to meet with NAACP officials Thursday.
