The Senate campaign derided for its lack of substance saw something approaching a debate last night. But not quite.
Rather than mixing it up together, Republican incumbent Scott Brown and Democratic challenger Elizabeth Warren addressed their own bases of support in parallel appearances with partisan-leaning media.

LizzyHauntYou came up with a last minute excuse for not meeting Sen. Brown on Dan Rae's radio show - the infamous Vickie the K partisan debate format rejection. So Lizzy dumped Danny and left Brown to debate with himself. But, Lizzy found another consituent wannabe... good old Rachel the Romper Maddow, who is believed to be residing someplace out Northampton way when not hooting from the MSNBC left listed studio. Lizzy doesn like an electronic medium that doesn't show her off in her favorite red jacket. Awwwwww.
Nice job Brownie. This is how you would have had a civil discussion with Prof Warren? The curtain has been removed. Scott Brown demonstrates via his media base he is an ad hominem opportunist and admits he sometimes doesn't know what he is talking about(when he's caught of course). His calling for Eric Holder's resignation when only half the legislative bodies by its partisan nature would go along with that even though there is not a shred of evidence anyone in the WH had anything to do with Fast and Furious's continuation. In fact when it was discovered it was stopped. This was a program started and continued in the Bush era. Sen Brown would not be happy if it were reversed and a Republican AG faced the same scrutiny. If the small business owner who called in is pulling in a mill a year(not likely), then his taxes would rise as the overwhelming majority of Americans agree. Everyone else's would be unchanged under present law. It would also put some brakes on the debt without causing undue suffering. It does not say what Sen Brown's views on trimming the Defense Budget were but we know he voted for funds to continue development of a GE jet engine the Pentagon did not want.Every chance he gets he reiterates the Republican mantra that the privileged class is the one holding the greenbacks by the millions and need "incentive" to invest in American workers, the most productive asset for wealth in the country. Of course he makes sure he is back dropped from full explanations of how he comes to this conclusion or finds the "right" audience to broadcast this view. He is one reactionary conservative talking point after another. Now I did not listen to either broadcast and am depending on what I am reading in the paper but, frankly, it is not out of line with what Mister True Blue Red Republican has said before. Much ado about anything substantive.
I am Scott Brown and I approve this message. Keep up the good work Sys. I just want you to know I meet with 2 Cherokee Chiefs over the internet every day and they are really mad at Ms. Warren. They told me it is tribal custom not to believe your ancestors. She has violated tribal law. I neglected to ask them how many members are in their council. One of them did mention that he knew you. They also told me it is obvious Globe commenters do not appreciate your wisdom. I would advise you to just pick up your marbles and go somewhere else where you will be more appreciated.
On Nightside last night, Scott Brown talked about the issues that matter to actual Massachusetts voters -- not to the limousine liberal Hollywood celebrities bankrolling Elizabeth Warren's campaign and their ludicrous "war on women" and other distractions. Brown talked about the one word that rarely, if ever, passes Warren's lips: JOBS. He talked about getting the Hire a Hero bill passed, holding job fairs across the state to put people to work, and fighting for policies that won't exacerbate the economic problems Barack Obama has failed to address. Meanwhile, what does Warren talk about? "Investments" -- a word every Mass. voter should know by now is Democrat-speak for "higher taxes." When she isn't mindlessly parroting "Middle class families are getting hammered" -- without ever saying what she'd do to correct the situation -- Warren is talking about all the new "investments" we need, without ever suggesting where the money for all these new investments is going to come from. (Had she deigned to attend last night's debate, Warren's lack of specifics would have been all the more evident in contrast to Scott Brown's specifics.) As for Warren's no-show, perhaps she was simply afraid of facing questions from Mass. voters. After all, you can only repeat "Middle class families are getting hammered" so many times...
I watched Scotty last night. He was whining and lying ad infinitum. Plenty of scare tactics, but not a woed of substance. With that voice and attitude, Scotty cannot help but to eventually turn every voter off.

This could be the new way of doing things, sort of like playing air guitar. Think of the cost savings if all our Senators and Representatives simply stayed home and gave their speeches to the mirror after their morning showers.

A little ol thing like Fast and Furious. Only 1 dead American
Warren claims to care about issues that matter to the people of Massachusetts, yet a good chunk of her money comes from out of state sources that think they know better than us about what the state needs. The biggest problem is foreclosures and underwater mortgages? Yet she made money off of that very issue.
Brown has on more than one occasion voted against the Republican line. Warren is implying she will do whatever the left wants her to do. Someone who thinks for the state or someone who toes the DNC party line? I think I'll vote Brown.
