Trial postponed for former Chariho school official

A trial has been postponed for a former Chariho School Committee member charged in connection with a car crash that injured four teenagers.

Defense attorney Robert Mann said Thursday that the trial for 50-year-old Terri Serra, of Richmond, has been rescheduled for July 16.

Serra was charged in October with violating the state’s social host law for allegedly furnishing or procuring alcohol for minors. Police say some youths drank alcohol at her home several hours before the accident.

Four high school students who were at Serra’s home were seriously injured when their car crashed in Charlestown.

Serra was also charged with failing to render aid at the crash scene and not calling 911 after she happened upon the accident while driving another boy home. She has pleaded not guilty.
