Tall ships Lynx and Pride of Baltimore II fired cannon shots at each other Sunday afternoon in Boston Harbor.
Gunner Frank Bell fired a blank round from a replica smooth-bore gun during a battle reenactment.
The battle shows "what it may have been like during the War of 1812,” said the Pride’s captain, Jamie Trost.
Pride of Baltimore II’s Frank Bell had Lynx in his sights Sunday.
Both crews are based in Baltimore, where the original, groundbreaking schooners were built.
Second mate John Pickering cleaned the barrel of a replica smooth-bore gun aboard the Pride of Baltimore II.
