Vermont bank robbed for third time in a year

Police say a bandit on a bicycle is responsible for the third robbery in a year at an unlucky bank in Vermont. Police Chief Trevor Whipple of South Burlington said that the man brandished what appeared to be a small handgun Thursday afternoon before pedaling away with cash. Whipple said it is not known why the People’s United Bank in South Burlington has been targeted so many times, but he said the bank’s management has made security upgrades since the last robbery. He also said that he hopes that the security camera’s high-quality images of the robber will help police find him.
