Fall River woman killed in crash on Route 24 in Freetown

A 57-year-old Fall River woman was killed today in an accident on Route 24 South by Exit 8B in Freetown.

State Police say that at about 11:40 a.m., the woman's 2000 Saturn sedan drifted to the right, struck the guardrail, and then drifted to the left, striking another car.

The woman was transported by ambulance to Charlton Memorial Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. State Police did not release her name.

The 31-year-old Coventry, R.I., woman driving the 2000 Chrysler Pacifica that was struck by the Saturn was transported by ambulance to Charlton Memorial Hospital. Two juveniles in her car were also taken there. All suffered non-life-threatening injuries, State Police said in a statement.
