Former aides get immunity in probation probe

To testify against ex-commissioner in corruption case

Two former top aides to John J. O’Brien when he was probation commissioner have been granted immunity from prosecution in exchange for testifying against him in federal and state corruption investigations, a state prosecutor disclosed in court on Tuesday.

Prosecutors for Attorney General Martha Coakley confirmed Tuesday that Edward P. Ryan, who was O’Brien’s legislative liaison, as well as former deputy commissioner Francis M. Wall, are cooperating with the prosecutors. The two men can give prosecutors a firsthand view of the way O’Brien allegedly funneled jobs and promotions to politically connected job candidates.

I hope prosecutors track down every corrupt bureaucrat and politician involved in this scandal. Beacon Hill needs a lesson to last a generation. This may be the occasion.

Say goodnight, Johnny! Bobby and Tommy should also get ready because the Feds are coming for them too. As a lifelong Democrat, I am sick and tired of the long parade of self-professed "Democrats" coming thru Beacon Hill and looting the state and giving the rest of us a bad name. Real Democrats don't steal from the tax payers and give ammunition to the Republican party with their obscene corruption. For the trolls, the prosecution at the state and federal level are Democrats. Corruption doesn't have a party affiliation, but it uses it whenever possible.

I still would like to know how O'Brien can qualify for a court appointed law team. With his salary and pension how can that possibly be justified?
