Yarmouth man arrested for alleged bomb threat

Yarmouth police evacuated a diner in that town tonight after a man called in a false bomb threat, authorities said. Gerald Mills, 36, of Yarmouth, allegedly called in the threat to Salty’s Diner on Route 28 and was arrested shortly before 7 p.m., police said in a statement.

“Yarmouth Police and Fire departments evacuated the restaurant and shut down Route 28 and were able to determine the threat was false,” police said.

Mills is scheduled to be arraigned tomorrow in Barnstable District Court on charges of making a false bomb threat, disorderly conduct, and disturbing the peace, police said.

Further information was not immediately available.
