The newly created state gambling commission badly underestimated public reaction to the fact that Carl Stanley McGee, the man tapped to be executive director of the new panel, had been arrested in 2007 in a sexual assault on a 15-year-old boy, internal e-mails show.
The e-mails, obtained by the conservative blog RedMassGroup and given to the Globe, show that the commission’s public relations consultant predicted in one e-mail that the allegations “will be no more than a paragraph deep into an otherwise extremely favorable story about Stan.”

There are more stories on Mitt Romney, and the queston of when Mitt left Bain Capital, than on this guy's abuse of a teenager.
Way to go Schwartzman! A public relations consultant gig sounds like a dream job if you can get it, especially in Mass!
With the Penn State debacle constantly in the headlines, these folks thought this would not be an issue???
This would be comical if these Bozo's were not utilizing tax dollars to support this enterprise with their sheer ineptitude. Wait until the gambling starts is when we will lose the big money!
Typical of Deval Patrick, to highly recommend his colleague, Carl Stanley McGee (a child rapist) for the position of Executive Director. Worst is the fact that the entire team (wanting to 'get-along' with Patrick) went along with Patrick's poor judgement & agreed with the 'Boss' that appointing McGee was not an issue - INCLUDING - the gaming commission's public relations consultant, Ms.Schwartzman! Incredible stupidity regarding the decision making of this group of people. Even worse, is the fact that we are paying their salaries. . . the beat goes on in Massachusetts.
Good job by the Boston Globe and Andrea Estes in pursuing this story, although one wonders what the coverage would have been like if McGee had been a member of the Romney administration.
