Massachusetts residents have endured stifling heat followed by violent thunderstorms recently, but the weekend will bring a much deserved break.

“It’s going to be a great weekend,” said meteorologist Charlie Foley. “You’re going to have lots of sun, but it won’t be hot-hot, and you won’t have that humidity.”

Today will be partly sunny and mildly humid. Temperatures will climb to 77 in Boston, and will dip to 55 in the evening.

Saturday will bring lots of sun, temperatures in the high 70s, and comfortable humidity. Nighttime temperatures will be in the low 60s.

Sunday will be mostly sunny with low humidity and temperatures in the low 80s, but the pleasant weather could disappear by Monday.

“The beginning of the week we have another chance of showers and thunderstorms,” Foley said, encouraging residents to make the most of the beautiful weather until then.
