Empty Amtrak train catches fire near South Station

An empty Amtrak train caught fire in a commuter rail service area behind South Station late this morning, according to the Boston Fire Department.

The fire was on the roof and around the vents of the train, said department spokesman Steve MacDonald. Firefighters have the blaze under control and are still on scene.

No injuries were reported.
