Kennedy’s sons at odds with his widow over institute

The already frayed relationship between Vicki Kennedy and her late husband’s children is at the breaking point, with the two sons growing increasingly convinced that she is jeopardizing the senator’s legacy and mishandling the creation of the $71 million institute that bears his name.

Much of the conflict centers around the construction and governance of the Edward M. Kennedy Institute for the US Senate, a project that faces potential cost overruns, according to a close family friend who was authorized by some family members to speak on their behalf, but who declined to be named.

"undercutting the bipartisan spirit that marked the senator's career". Is the author of this notion aware of the the name "Bork"? Do they not know the similar smears Kennedy flung at Justice Thomas? Is it remotely conceivable to think that the Globe's oft proclaimed "Liberal Lion" did much of any work of a "bipartisan" nature? The innumerable instances of Kennedy outrageously condemning any conservative idea completely contradict this "bipartisan" assertion. The Globe and others are free to ignore Kennedy's full legacy of ugly behavior. However, re-inventing Kennedy as "bipartisan" is a ludicrous attempt to imply his approach to politics was somehow relatively "reasonable", normal or acceptable. Kennedy gleefully held down the extreme far left of his party's politics. He relished attacking conservatives and often went far beyond the pale in so doing. Why the revisionism? Kennedy was an unrepentant liberal. Why doesn't the Globe simply embrace this fact, one they fully supported every moment of Kennedy's tenure?

"The sins of the Father..."; "What goes around comes around"; "The evil that men do lives on,...". So many appropriate quotes, so little time.

Keep your eyes open. The Kennedy's are going to try to suck some more money from the public trough to pay for this moonbat center. They will NEVER use their own money!

And they say there's no good news these days!

Hmmm, tax-exempt? Why wouldn't they want to pay their fair share?

He was bipartisan? Who knew?

Maybe they should contest the will since it takes a family home and turns it into a shrine...creepy.

Look at it this way: It is an "institute" and conservatives, moderates and liberals ALL have tax exempt status for these institutes.

Bi-partisan doesn't mean you are expected to be on the other side in how you support candidates for high office, for heaven's sake.

Except that conservatives aren't always hectoring people to pay more taxes.

Why, you can't even get a scotch and soda there before noon.......but the ambiens good.

Would it be possible to care less?
