Hard-charging start for youngest Mass. mayor

HOLYOKE — It was one of the first instructions Mayor Alex Morse gave to his new secretary: Before arriving at events, he must always know which door to enter.

The directive is part practicality. When he is dashing to four, five, six events in one evening, he cannot waste time hunting for the right entrance.

Maybe this is what this country needs. Young, vibrant, idea filled persons with no political experience that owe no one anything. Time to get all these old cobwebs out of office including the corruption that comes with them.

The problem with having a great apartment in Holyoke is that it's in Holyoke.

The only thing I know about Holyoke is that forty years ago when I went to UMass Amherst, the Railroad Salvage TV spots featuring Ruby and Choo Choo Vine were local cultural icons. Now Ruby and Choo Choo are gone and I don't feel so good myself.

I grew up there and love it. It's one of the most interesting cities in the state. Best of luck to the young Mayor.
